BYT1 Series Explosion-Proof Electro-Hydraulic Thruster
-
Product Overview
Product Type: BYT1 Series Explosion-Proof Electro-Hydraulic Actuator
Core Function:
A motor-driven centrifugal pump generates hydraulic pressure, moving a push rod in a linear motion to operate a drum brake, thereby applying or releasing the brake.
Main Application Industries:
- Underground coal mines with explosive mixtures of methane or coal dust
- Factories with explosive gas environments (e.g., chemical plants, ports, metal processing plants)
Key Advantages:
- Reliable explosion-proof design that meets applicable standards
- Smooth and quiet operation with low starting current
- Excellent sealing and high protection level, suitable for harsh working conditions
- Capable of frequent start-stop cycles and continuous operation

Structure & working principle
Braking Method:
Normally Closed – Spring (Holding) Brake, Released by Hydraulic Drive
Working Principle:
Electrical Release: When powered, the motor drives the impeller at high speed, generating hydraulic pressure that forces oil from the top to the bottom of the piston. This rapidly pushes the piston and push rod upward, compressing the load spring and releasing the brake.
Power-Off Holding Brake: When the impeller stops, hydraulic pressure is released, and the piston quickly returns to its original position under the force of the load spring and its own weight. Oil flows back to the top of the piston, and the brake engages automatically.
Main Components:
The BYT1 series explosion-proof electro-hydraulic actuator consists mainly of an explosion-proof three-phase asynchronous motor, centrifugal pump, hydraulic cylinder, piston, push rod, and load spring. The motor shaft has a hollow structure with an internal square shaft for torque transmission. During push rod movement, the rod slides freely along the square shaft inside the hollow shaft while maintaining reliable power transmission. Oil-resistant rubber seals throughout the actuator effectively prevent oil leakage and the intrusion of dust and moisture.
Safety During Power Loss or Faults:
In the event of a power outage or motor failure, the hydraulic system depressurizes immediately. The piston is pushed back by the load spring, the push rod retracts automatically, and the brake engages, ensuring safe stopping of the equipment in accordance with the fail-safe design principle.
Installation & compatibility
Installation Method
The actuator should be installed vertically or at an angle not exceeding ±15°, with the connecting rod pointing upward. During installation, the lower mounting hole of the actuator is pinned to the brake base, and the connecting rod on the crossbeam is connected to the brake lever. After installation, the actuator should move as a single unit, and the push rod must not be subjected to radial forces. The motor cable diameter must match the rubber pad hole to ensure a proper seal; otherwise, the explosion-proof performance may be compromised. Opening the cover while the circuit is energized is strictly prohibited.
Interface Standards
The installation dimensions comply with industry standards. Each model has specified dimensional parameters, including mounting interface dimensions for D, D1, D2, H, H1, L1, L2, etc. The standard motor power supply is three-phase AC, suitable for 380V, 660V, or 1140V, 50Hz systems.
Alternative Brands/Models
The BYT1 series can be directly used with YWZ series external block brakes and serves as the standard drive for electro-hydraulic drum brakes. Main models include BYT1-18Z/2, BYT1-25Z/4, BYT1-45Z (4/5/6), BYT1-90Z (6/8), BYT1-125Z/10, BYT1-180Z (8/10/12), BYT1-320Z (12/20), etc.
Customization Options and Installation Compatibility
The BYT1 series supports non-standard customization. We can design and manufacture products according to user requirements, including special voltages (e.g., 127V, 220V, 660V, 1140V), special frequencies (60Hz), and special thrust levels. In most cases, this series requires no modifications to the original equipment because it uses standard mounting interface dimensions and is directly compatible with YWZ series brakes. It can directly replace actuators of the same series. During installation, simply connect the base and lever mechanism following standard procedures.
