Brake Linings

Working Principle

 

Resistance is generated via friction, where pressure within the braking system is converted into frictional force. This forces the brake linings to clamp onto the brake disc or drum, converting the kinetic energy of the industrial equipment into thermal energy to achieve deceleration or complete stoppage.

 

Performance Requirements

 

  • High Friction Coefficient: A sufficiently high friction coefficient is essential to rapidly and effectively reduce equipment speed during braking, ensuring ample braking force under diverse operating conditions such as high speed and heavy load.
  • High Temperature Resistance: Industrial equipment generates substantial heat during braking. Brake linings must exhibit robust high-temperature resistance to prevent performance deterioration or thermal decay caused by elevated temperatures.
