Brake Linings
Working Principle
Resistance is generated via friction, where pressure within the braking system is converted into frictional force. This forces the brake linings to clamp onto the brake disc or drum, converting the kinetic energy of the industrial equipment into thermal energy to achieve deceleration or complete stoppage.
Performance Requirements
- High Friction Coefficient: A sufficiently high friction coefficient is essential to rapidly and effectively reduce equipment speed during braking, ensuring ample braking force under diverse operating conditions such as high speed and heavy load.
- High Temperature Resistance: Industrial equipment generates substantial heat during braking. Brake linings must exhibit robust high-temperature resistance to prevent performance deterioration or thermal decay caused by elevated temperatures.
- Wear Resistance: Given the prolonged friction between brake linings and brake drums or discs, excellent wear resistance is critical to maintaining consistent, reliable braking performance over extended service life.
- Low Noise & Operational Comfort: Minimizing noise during braking not only improves the working environment but also facilitates the monitoring of equipment operating conditions.
- Environmental Friendliness: Amid growing environmental protection demands, the material selection for brake linings is increasingly inclined toward eco-friendly options to minimize environmental pollution.
Application fields
- Mining Machinery: Applicable to mine hoists, mine winches, and similar equipment. It is used to control equipment startup, operation, and shutdown, ensuring the safety and efficiency of mining production.
- Construction Machinery: Suitable for excavators, loaders, bulldozers, cranes, etc. It enables braking and deceleration of equipment during various complex engineering operations, thus guaranteeing operational safety.
- Wind Power Generation Equipment: Deployed in wind turbine high-speed shaft brakes and yaw brakes to regulate the operation and shutdown of wind turbines, ensuring the stable operation of power generation systems.
- Metal Processing Equipment: Used for rolling mills, punching machines, and other equipment. It realizes rapid braking during metal processing procedures, improving machining precision and production efficiency.
